Today starts a brand new Project 365 cycle. If you’ll recall, Year One was spent simply taking and posting a photo every day, typically related to what was going on in my life. Year Two, most recently completed, chronicled 365 consecutive outfits and my changing wardrobe. This year we embark on an all-new adventure, one that is near and dear to my heart.
Year Three is the year of the mandala. If you’ve never heard of mandalas before, you can find an explanation here. In art therapy, they’re used as a safe space in which to draw or create anything. It’s a nonthreatening way to introduce clients to the idea of a safe and open space. Mandalas have a very special power; I’ve long been drawn to them, although not quite sure why. In this project, I will make one mandala every day for a year. Some will be computer-generated, some will be printed and colored, and many will be personal drawings. I’m very excited to share this project with you.
Let’s get started with a simple, colorful mandala, one that I found online and colored in myself.
